Obituary: William Lynn Owens

William Lynn Owens, 75, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021, at McPherson Health & Rehab. William was born on March 2, 1945, in Tacoma, Washington.  At the age of nine months, William was placed in the foster home of Mr. and Mrs. William Owens.  Prior to this, he had been in nine different foster homes.  William and Edith Owens adopted William when he was 3 ½ years old.  He had one sister who was also adopted by the Owens family.  After completion of eighth grade, he was employed in a number of different occupations including dishing washing and construction.  William lived

Carside To-Go Chicken Noodle Fundraiser

On Monday, March 1, Elyria Christian School will host their annual Chicken Noodle Dinner fundraiser from 11:00am-7:00pm at the McPherson County 4-H building located at 710 W. Woodside.   Typically, this is a dine-in event where our band and choir students perform throughout the day.  However, due to the current restrictions we have chosen NOT to offer dine-in for this event.  Instead, guests will be able to order one of TWO ways, 1) pre-order by calling 620-386-0523 or 316-251-5352 (please do not call until Monday, March 1);  2) Pull in and we’ll take your order carside.

Obituary: John Matthew Hein

John Matthew Hein, 46, of El Dorado, Kansas passed away Friday, January 1st, 2020 suddenly at his residence. John was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 17, 1974, a son of Melinda L. (Tucker) Grisham and Bobby C. Hein John attended Lincoln grade school, McPherson Middle School and McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas. John Matthew Hein was united in marriage to Danielle Frazier in May of 1994. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson.
