Smyrna Police have launched an investigation following the theft of two French Bulldogs from a woman’s car while she was inside a store.

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when an unsettling incident occurred at the Cumberland Crossing Shopping Center on Cumberland Boulevard. The incident took place in the parking lot, which was bustling with activity.

Channel 2’s Elizabeth Rawlins interviewed the pet owner, who preferred to remain anonymous.

During WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Rawlins was shown the grainy surveillance video, which could potentially hold the key to reuniting her with her beloved pups, Denver and Dallas.

According to the dog owner, the person in question, after getting into their car, proceeded to reverse and park right behind their vehicle. They then got out of their car and appeared to be crouching down.

The dog owner parked her car just a few feet away from the entrance of the beauty supply store and quickly dashed inside, leaving her dogs unattended for a brief moment.

Upon her return in less than 15 minutes, the items had vanished.

According to her, the police have successfully identified the individuals captured in the video. However, they have chosen not to disclose the names of the individuals they are currently seeking.

The trend of stealing certain dog breeds is on the rise.

Tom Sharpe of the American Kennel Club expressed concern over the increasing prevalence of criminal organizations stealing dogs. This issue has become a significant problem in recent times.

According to a report by Channel 2 Action News, the French bulldog has become the breed of choice for thieves. Officials from the American Kennel Club revealed this information in July, stating that the French bulldog is currently the most targeted breed.
