Obituary: Dean A. Donaldson

Dean A. Donaldson, 50, of Hutchinson, KS and formerly of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020, surrounded by family at his home in Hutchinson.  He owned and operated “DD Studio”, a DJ service, and the Courtyard Bakery.  He also was a chef in several local restaurants. Dean was born on April 26, 1970, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Daryl and Jane (Widiger) Donaldson.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1989 and received his bachelor’s degree in art and restoration in 2013. McPherson Center for Health announces new construction outside its Medical Office Building, Building 3. McPherson Museum Hosts First Annual 5K

On Saturday, October 31st, the McPherson Museum is hosting their first annual fossil 5K virtual run. There is a $35 registration fee per person; this will include a medal and a one-of-a-kind t-shirt. The unique design was inspired by the museum’s large fossil collection of Saber Tooth Cats, Ground Sloths, Mammoths, and others. Shirts and medals will be available for pickup at the museum or they can ship the prizes to your house. Movie Night at the Opera House

On Friday, October 23rd, and Saturday, October 24th, McPherson Opera House is participating in the 23rd Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival. On both nights the show begins at 7:00 p.m. at the McPherson Opera House, 219 South Main Street.  Film lovers around the world will get the opportunity to view and vote on the nine finalists’ films. The Best Film and Best Actor awards will be determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. Health Department Posts 12 New Cases of Covid-19

McPherson County Health Department reports 355 total cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in McPherson County. 316 of the total cases have now met recovery guidelines set forth by the KDHE or have passed away. There are four current hospitalizations and six deaths. The latest death has been confirmed with medical records and we send our deepest sympathy to the family.
