Suspect Charged with Murder

Tina Nicole Brown, 33, has been charged with first degree murder, battery of a law enforcement officer, and mistreatment of an elder person. She is being held on $500,000 bail at McPherson County Law Enforcement Center. Her arrest follows the discovery of victim, Kelly G. Peterson, 63, of McPherson. Peterson was discovered on Monday after a 911 call to his residence at 124 S. Kelly Dr., in McPherson. There are no other suspects in custody at this time. We will report information as it becomes available.

KBI Arrest made following human trafficking case

SHAWNEE COUNTY– The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) made an arrest Monday following an eight-month-long investigation into suspected human trafficking. On Feb. 17, at approximately 6:30 a.m., KBI agents arrested 54-year-old Michael A. Anderson, of Topeka. Anderson was arrested without incident at 620 SW 9th St. in Topeka. He was arrested for rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated battery. Anderson was then booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Formal charges are pending. Topeka Man shot in officer-involved shooting dies

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) has identified the man who was shot yesterday during an officer-involved shooting in Topeka. Gaston A. Nava-Saucedo, 33, of Topeka, was shot during the incident. He died Wednesday from his injuries. The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) requested KBI assistance at approximately 11:10 a.m. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded.
