Bullpups Resume Season At Wichita-Collegiate

The Bullpups will be on the road Tuesday night as they take on Wichita Collegiate High School. Tipoff for the girls is set for 6 p.m., and the boys follow right after at 7:30 p.m.  February is a crucial month for the Bullpup boys (9-4). As a result, he is the McPherson Buzz’s Player of the Week, presented by the National Compliance Group. Kanitz averaged 10.1 points a game for the A-team.  His season-high was 18 points against Salina Lakewood, on Dec. 5. Bullpup Wrestlers Win At Fredonia

Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. FREDONIA— The McPherson High School girls wrestling team left last weekend victorious at the Fredonia Invitational. The Bullpups score a total of 123 points, edging out Fort Scott High School (118).  Kaleigh Marbut McPherson’s top wrestler as she was the only Bullpup to take first place after going 4-0 in her 123-pound weight class. Bulldogs Complete Series Sweep of MVC Sunday

McPherson College Athletics The McPherson College baseball team pulled the brooms out of the shed and completed the series sweep over the Missouri Valley Vikings winning game three, 17-7, and then in the finale, held on for an 8-5 victory. On opening day, the Bulldogs outscored the Vikings 38-6. On Sunday, they kept that trend going, scoring 17 runs on 15 hits, including four that went for extra bases. Tigers Suffer Home Loss To Eagles

Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. It looked like the Central Christian College women’s basketball team was on the verge of pulling an upset over Southwestern College University after leading down 36-35, but it all faded away in the second half when the Eagles outscored the Lady Tigers 51-32 and it resulted in an 86-68 loss on Saturday. Quincy Williams STERLING—The McPherson men’s basketball team lost a close game to the Sterling Warriors 96-92. The loss moved the team to 18-7 with a 13-6 record in the KCAC. The Bulldogs were in the game throughout. They trailed by four after the first half, 48-44. Lual Magot had another stellar game with 18 points and seven rebounds. Roberts Joins 1,000 Point Club Against Sterling

Quincy Williams STERLING — The McPherson College Women basketball team lost a close game against the Sterling College on Saturday night, losing 93-83. The loss moved the Bulldogs to 11-14 on the season with a 7-12 record in the KCAC. This game was a showcase for the talents of Brittany Roberts, who finished with 34 points and 17 rebounds.
