Bullpup Bowlers Beat Circle In Home Opener

Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. Herb Halinksi, head coach of the McPherson High School bowling team said it was a bittersweet home opener for his bowlers on Friday afternoon. Not necessarily their best performance but enough to get the sweep over Circle High School. The boys team was led JC Becker as he bowled a 615. Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. EL DORADO — Despite the snowy weather and road conditions in the Butler County area, that didn’t stop the McPherson High School bowling team from getting a clean sweep over El Dorado High School on Tuesday evening. “It was a hard day with the traveling and weather,” Head Coach Herb Halinski said. “The teams did a good job but we need to work on spares as this was the worst we have shot spares all year long.  We will practice those and be ready for Friday.” The Bullpup boys beat the Wildcats 2,265-1,979. Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. WICHITA— The McPherson High School boys bowling team left The Alley with a win on Tuesday night, beating both Goddard High School 2,562-2,286 and Augusta High School 2,562-2,074. The Bullpup boys were led by both Taylor Miller and Tytin Goebel. Miller put up 755 total points after bowling 227-279-249 in his games. Goebel reached 636, setting the tone with 278 and then recorded 187 and 171. The Lady Pups bowled a total of 2,034, finishing ahead of Goddard (2,029) and fell behind Augusta (2,235). Lets Bowl: Bullpup Bowlers Start 2020 Season On Tuesday

The McPherson bowlers open the season at The Alley in Wichita on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Herb Halinski enters his 12th season with the Bullpups, being the only bowling head coach in school history.
