Hutchinson Pulmonology Associates to Expand Services to McPherson

In response to a growing need for Pulmonology services in south central Kansas, Hutchinson Pulmonology Associates (an entity of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center) has opened an outreach clinic in McPherson as a collaborative venture with McPherson Hospital. The clinic is accepting patients every other Tuesday starting in Suite 301 of Building Two at McPherson Hospital. Serving McPherson will be Dr. Mohammed Al-Halawani and Dr. Tariq Musa who bring impeccable credentials to their positions.  Al-Halawani is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine. ICU at McPherson Hospital Receives Funds

Through its annual auction last fall, the McPherson Healthcare Foundation recently provided a portion of those funds to upgrade the Intensive Care Unit at McPherson Hospital. Community members in attendance pledged financial support for the hospital, of which $48,000 was earmarked to improve the appearance of the ICU. Registration Open for McPherson’s First-Ever ‘Virtual 5k’

Hess Fitness Center at McPherson Hospital is bringing a new “run anytime, run anywhere” 5K concept to McPherson, Feb. 1-15. Called the Heart of McPherson Virtual 5K, the race format provides an easy way for runners and walkers of all levels to participate in a “race.” Participants can run or walk the 5K anywhere–even on a treadmill. Kysen Miles Christy McPherson’s New Year’s Baby

Though not due to make an appearance for two more weeks, Kysen Miles Christy was ready to claim the honor of being McPherson Hospital’s first baby of 2020. He arrived at 9:26 p.m. on Jan. 2. Mom Amy and dad Shawn were a bit relieved. “If he had waited two more weeks, I think he would have been a pretty good size baby,” Shawn said. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 and a half inches long.

McPherson Hospital Clinic Changes

McPherson Hospital announced a change in location for many of its specialty outpatient clinics effective immediately. A variety of visiting clinics in medical specialties come to the hospital to provide services for patients from the area. To centralize the location of these outpatient clinics, the hospital is utilizing space that became open when all hospital operated clinics moved to the new medical office building.

PFAC Going Strong at Mac Hospital

It’s been almost two years since McPherson Hospital’s Patient and Family Advisory Council began meeting to help improve services for patients. The purpose of the PFAC is to provide a voice for patients and families in the design of care where they can offer unique perspectives. The group meets monthly to share their personal experiences in healthcare and discuss improvement ideas with hospital leadership.
