By Sports Editor Peter Holland Jr. The McPherson Middle School boys basketball team competed at Fort Riley on Monday. The eighth-graders completed their season with back-to-back wins. The A team won 75-11 and the B team, 40-27. The Seventh-graders were also victorious with the A team beating Fort Riley 39-7 and the B team 42-14. The eighth grade A team had three players finishing in double figures. Javyn Alexander was the top scorer with 21 points. Alex Robertson added 17 points and Gavin Wedel had 13 points. Quincy Williams The McPherson Middle School basketball teams took on Hutchinson last night. The eighth grade boys A team beat Hutch 52-35, the B team lost 38-12. The eighth-grade girls A team beat Hutch 38-9, while the B team lost a close one 23-21. The seventh-grade boys A team lost to Hutchinson 51-40. The B team also lost 38-17. The seventh-grade girls A team lost 43-20, while the B team won 30-17. The eighth-grade boys A team improved to 9-0 Thursday night. Jayvn Alexander led the team in scoring with 16 points. According to a source close to the McPherson Middle School, a physical altercation transpired during a Middle School boys basketball game on Thursday evening. During halftime,  Jay Crawford, head coach of the eighth grade A-team was confronted by a family member of a player. There was physical contact between the two. Both were separated by multiple people. No charges have been filed, and no one was escorted from the venue.  The game continued afterward without any incident. The Buzz will have further details as the news develops.  

SALINA— The McPherson Middle School girls basketball teams were at Salina on Thursday night, while the boys stayed home to take on Salina South.
