A maximum of six teams will compete for bragging rights and prizes as library staff toss out questions about a wide variety of reading genres that will both entertain and challenge participants.

Read moreThe McPherson Public Library is introducing a new initiative, called TED Circles, which is designed to encourage small group conversations about a variety of topics. The library has been designated as an approved TED Circles site, with Shannon Brake as the Circle host. Each TED Circle is unique and all are virtually connected through the TED Circles platform – making it possible for local conversations to reach a global scale. The January session will be held on Jan. 20 from noon to 1 p.m. The theme for January is: The Future.

Read moreOn Jan. 11, the McPherson Public Library, 214 W. Marlin St. will hold its annual Great Magazine Giveaway. The library keeps issues of its magazine subscriptions for a couple of years. The back issues from 2017 have been pulled, and the public is invited to browse and take what they want free of charge. Included in this year’s giveaway are the 2017 issues of children, teen, parenting, and adult collection magazines.
