    • A 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck the northeastern US on Friday morning.
    • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a self-described Christian nationalist, said it’s a sign from God.
    • She said Americans need to “repent.”

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene believes that the recent earthquake in New York City is a clear indication that the nation should take the time to reflect and repent.

A powerful earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted the northeastern region on Friday morning. This seismic event, with its epicenter located approximately 30 miles west of Newark, could potentially become the third-largest earthquake ever recorded in New Jersey.

According to Greene, a self-proclaimed Christian nationalist, the earthquake served as a message from God to the American people.

“I posted on X, expressing my belief that God is sending America strong signs as a call for repentance,” she wrote. “These signs include earthquakes, eclipses, and many more to come. My prayer is that our country heeds these warnings.”

On April 8, a total solar eclipse will be visible in certain parts of the country. It’s important to note that this astronomical event has no connection with the recent earthquake.

The House will end its weekslong recess tomorrow, with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson potentially advancing long-awaited legislation to provide aid to Ukraine.

In March, Greene took action by submitting a motion to vacate against Johnson, emphasizing the potential consequences of his support for Ukraine’s conflict with Russia. However, her fellow Republicans appear to be less inclined to support her efforts, given the challenges they faced when deciding on Johnson’s position in late 2023.

Greene seems to have returned to her old ways after spending a significant portion of 2023 attempting to align herself more with the mainstream Republican party.
