Over the weekend, Charles Thompson Jr., a 38-year-old resident of the District, was apprehended and faced charges for an alleged sexual assault attempt on a woman at a residence located in the 3900 block of Davis Place NW.
According to police, Thompson allegedly refused to let the victim leave the apartment and held her against her will until she managed to escape around 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th.
Responding officers made repeated efforts to convince Thompson to leave the apartment, but he stubbornly refused, leading to the declaration of a barricade situation. However, shortly after 9:45 p.m. on Sunday night, Thompson finally relented, opening his door and allowing the officers to arrest him without any further complications.
Thompson faced charges of assault with the intent to commit first-degree sexual abuse, kidnapping, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
