According to ABC News, law enforcement officials in Los Angeles have connected the tragic discovery of a deceased infant on a highway to a potential murder-suicide case.
Shortly after the incident, a tragic event unfolded as a car driven by a woman, later identified as Danielle Johnson, crashed into a tree in Redondo Beach. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene by the authorities. The loss of this young mother has left the community in shock and mourning.
A knife containing biological evidence was found at the crime scene.
The authorities suspect that the mother left the two children on the highway and intentionally crashed into a tree.
The police have stated that the 9-year-old girl, who is thought to have witnessed the murder, has been taken to the hospital for her injuries. She is currently under protective custody to ensure her safety.
According to Los Angeles ABC station KABC, residents in the vicinity reported hearing a heated argument emanating from the apartment the previous night and observed the presence of blood in the surrounding area the following morning.
