Hannity Calls for Arizona to Repeal Abortion Ban: ‘Remove It!’

Fox News host Sean Hannity urged Arizona Democrats to reject the reinstated abortion ban by the state Supreme Court this week.

On Tuesday, the high court reinstated a law that dates back to 1864 and was later codified in 1901. This law prohibits almost all abortions, with the exception of those necessary to save the mother’s life. The decision overrides Arizona’s 15-week abortion ban, although the state’s Democratic attorney general has stated that she will not enforce this “draconian” measure.

The decision was announced just one day after former President Donald Trump, who expressed his belief that it goes too far, publicly opposed a nationwide ban on abortion. This move disappointed many anti-abortion advocates, but it was also seen as a politically astute decision. Ever since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the landmark case of Roe v. Wade, which secured the constitutional right to abortion in 2022, Democrats have strategically focused on this issue, and their efforts have yielded great success.

During his Wednesday night broadcast, Hannity, a staunch opponent of abortion, shared his thoughts on the decision and urged Democrats to take action in order to repeal the ban.

And the people on the left are so desperate attacking Trump now for an Arizona Supreme Court ruling that upholds what is a Civil War-era law banning abortion. This will be fixed in the next week or two. Let not your heart be troubled. I can pretty much assure that will happen. Trump opposes the law and this ruling… And you know what? Arizona’s governor is a Democrat. The state’s attorney general is a Democrat. The state legislature is almost evenly divided. If Democrats– you want to get rid of the law, well, you have a chance right now to get rid of it. And I would advise you, get rid of it! They would rather use it as a political tool ahead of November

Currently, Republicans hold a two-seat majority in both chambers of Arizona’s legislature. On Wednesday, Democrats made an effort to repeal the measure but were met with opposition from Republicans.
