The Blue Springs Police Department is currently investigating a double homicide that occurred on Saturday night in Wilbur Young Park.
Police received a call around 10:30 p.m. regarding an incident at the park situated at 1100 SE Adams Dairy Parkway.
Two young men, aged 19 and 20, were found by the police with gunshot wounds. They were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries.
According to the police, a 17-year-old male was also shot in the incident, but fortunately, his injuries are non-life-threatening.
The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing, and authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects.
