On the first day of court proceedings for Donald Trump’s first criminal trial, reports emerged that he was seen dozing off. This incident has given rise to a new nickname for him.

Former President Donald Trump made an appearance in a New York City court on Monday for the start of his hush-money case. This trial marks the first of three criminal trials for Trump, who had to endure a day of lawyers discussing the details and procedures of the case.

During the jury selection process, the attorneys were engaged in a back-and-forth exchange. Amidst this, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman made an appearance on CNN, where she suggested that Trump seemed to be sleeping.

During her live-blogging of the events inside, Haberman observed that Trump appeared to be dozing off at times. She noted that his head kept dropping and his jaw seemed to go slack, indicating signs of drowsiness. Other reporters also mentioned that his eyes were closed during the proceedings.

Many people were taken aback by the surprising news that emerged today. Ironically, the label typically associated with Joe Biden is fitting in this situation.

As Sleepy Don becomes the talk of the internet, it is worth noting that Trump, on the other hand, appeared alert and full of energy while heading into court. Engaging with reporters, he passionately denounced the trial, labeling it as a direct attack on the nation. Trump reiterated his belief that the proceedings were nothing more than a witch hunt.

Remember, the focus of this entire situation revolves around the alleged hush money payments that Trump and his team reportedly received in order to silence Stormy Daniels about her claims of an affair with him during the 2000s. Trump is currently facing 34 counts of falsifying business records, a felony offense in New York.

In the ongoing court session on Monday, there are a few significant updates. The court will be reading the transcript of the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape, as well as providing details about another alleged affair involving Donald Trump and former Playboy model Karen McDougal. Additionally, Michael Cohen is anticipated to give his testimony.
