Tragic Loss of Sheriff’s Deputy and Police Officer in Salina, New York Shooting

A Syracuse police officer and an Onondaga County sheriff’s deputy were first transported to a local hospital in critical condition after the shooting, according to officials. Tragically, both individuals were later pronounced dead at University Hospital on Monday morning, as confirmed by a police official.

Police report that the individual whom authorities believe to be the main suspect in the case was also found deceased.

Syracuse police officers made an attempt to conduct a vehicle traffic stop shortly after 7 p.m., as disclosed by officials on Monday morning. However, when the vehicle failed to stop, the officers took note of its license plate number and proceeded to a location linked to it, as reported by authorities.

According to the authorities, the address was attended by Syracuse police and Onondaga County sheriff’s deputies. During the incident, a man at the scene fired shots at the law enforcement officers.
