Cleora Pearl McClaskey, 84, of Marion, Kansas and formerly of McPherson, passed away peacefully surrounded by family following a brief illness at 9:18 a.m., Friday, September 18th, at Via Christi, St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. Cleora was born on her parents homestead in Washington County, Kansas, on May 6, 1936, a daughter of Frances Irene (Reyser) Hicks and Russell P. Hicks. Cleora attended Manning country school and graduated from Agenda High School, Agenda, Kansas in 1954. Paul Elmore, 90, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 7:18 p.m., Thursday, September 17th, 2020 peacefully, at Harmony Home. Paul was born in Galva, Kansas on October 24, 1929, a son of Elizabeth Grace (Aelmore) and Harvey Allen Elmore. Multiple Adjustments Approved for KSHSAA Fall Postseason

TOPEKA, Kan – Following a regular scheduled KSHSAA Executive Board and Board of Directors meeting, Sept. 15 and 16, multiple adjustments have been made to the fall postseason for KSHSAA activities. McPherson County Covid-19 Update

McPherson County Health Department reports 251 total confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in McPherson County. 227 of the total confirmed cases have now met recovery guidelines set forth by the KDHE. There are two current hospitalizations and one death. McPherson College Enrollment Continues to Grow

McPherson College is reporting record enrollment for the fifth year in a row bolstered by a new student cohort of 300 and an increase in overall retention. Enrollment was confirmed on Friday, September 11, which marked the point when enrollment numbers become official for the fall semester. The total headcount for the college is 864, and fall-to-fall retention increased to 76 percent.
