State Announces Art Contest Geared Toward Suicide Prevention

TOPEKA – The state of Kansas announces the launch of a new art contest geared towards Kansas youth. The Youth Suicide Prevention Art Contest is for artists, musicians, painters, writers, sculptors, poets, singers and photographers in grades 6 to 12. The contest, hosted by Kansas Partners in Empowering Youth for Suicide Prevention, will help state agencies shape suicide prevention messages and health promotion campaigns. Dale Gene Scott, 57, of Hillsboro, Kansas and formerly of Galva, passed away at 4:22 a.m., Saturday, February 27th, 2021 peacefully, at Salem Home. Dale was born in McPherson, Kansas on August 22, 1963, a son of Frankie Mae (Ballweg) and James Dean Scott. Dale attended Galva Elementary School, Galva Junior High and graduated from Canton Galva High School, Canton, Kansas in 1982. He was a member of Galva Christian Church Galva, Kansas. McPherson College Honors Employees’ Years of Service

McPHERSON, KAN. – McPherson College celebrated a combined total of more than 270 years of service to the college when it recognized faculty, staff, and board of trustee members. Faculty and staff were treated to a drive-through dinner and awards presentation on campus. The 5 Kinds of Nonfiction Reading Challenge begins on March 1st and runs throughout the month.
