In the aftermath of Donald Trump posting a whopping $175 million bond in his New York civil fraud case, it didn’t take long for Jimmy Fallon to seize the opportunity to poke fun at the situation. With Eric Trump in the spotlight, Fallon couldn’t resist making him the subject of his jokes.
During his appearance on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday, the comedian revealed that the funds for the bond came from an insurer based in California. However, in order to obtain the bond, Trump had to provide some collateral.
He said that it is unclear what exactly Trump promised to give up in exchange for the money. A picture of Eric Trump appeared on the screen.
“We don’t have access to that information, so all we can do is speculate,” he said, as the image reappeared. “But as soon as we gather more details, we’ll be sure to keep you informed,” he added, as the image was displayed once again.
The former president temporarily halted the enforcement of $464 in penalties on Monday by posting bond. This came after he was found guilty of engaging in fraudulent business practices for several decades.
In a lighthearted manner, Fallon recently made a joke about Trump’s financial situation. He quipped that Trump is so desperate for money that he is resorting to renting out his properties on Airbnb, including Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago, and even Eric.
